Any number of monitors can be used. Many use a set of three either displayed horizontally or as a T-model. Some prefer a wall of monitors. The monitors can also be stacked by two rows of four or two rows of three.  A curved row of four can also be used. The actual arrangement can be individualized according to the users need or space.

Many professions such as communications, accounting, engineering and video editing use multi-monitors. The use of multi-monitors allows the professional to expand their workspace without using more paper or desktop therefore allowing more organization and multi-tasking which all increases productivity.

It takes several seconds to switch from one application to another and when these seconds are added together it can amounts to more than 10 minutes in a day which can add up to multiple hours in a year.
